As an independent, impartial, and confidential party, the Ombudsman serves as an alternative means of dispute resolution by which issues may be raised, considered, given appropriate referral, and/or resolved.

Finding the best Ombudsman is always a difficult challenge. The Ombudsman Directory makes the selection Ombudsman process easier. Ombudsman profiles contain the knowledge, skill and expertise of each experienced Ombudsman.

 Step 1: Select a U.S. State

We have all fifty U.S. States, plus Puerto Rico and Guam. For International Ombudsman and legal professionals, please consult the menu tab “International” in the top navigation menu. Select the U.S. State where your legal issue or problem is located.

Step 2: Select a State County Area

Within each U.S. States, we have listed the County areas. We have tried to align the County areas with specific judicial court districts. Select the County area where your legal issue or problem is located.

Step 3: Select a Legal Practice Area

We have an extensive list of legal practice areas. Select the legal practice area that most closely applies to your specific situation. Within each legal practice area we have included examples of issues associated with each area of legal practice.

After you have selected the STATE, COUNTY and PRACTICE AREA, Click the SUBMIT button.

Step 4: Review Ombudsmans in Legal Practice Area

The search results will display a list of Ombudsman. Review their professional profiles. A local Ombudsman is typically your best source of information. We suggest that you make contact with several Ombudsmans to find an Ombudsman that you are comfortable with. Expertise and fees will vary. We recommend an in-person consultation before deciding to retain a Ombudsman.
